Sorry, forgot to add that the tiger example on go-oo.org works fine, a
simple SVG file such as this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Protractor.svg#file
  http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/fc/Protractor.svg

does not.
