Two aspects. 

1. Ergonomic functionality that is to a degree subjective and depends on
individual preferences and work styles.

2. Speed of the technology.

The advantage of a focus on the second one is that it's an absolute. If
OOo starts faster, opens and saves documents faster and responds quicker
to menu requests everyone benefits no matter what their individual
preferences are. 

My vote is for this project to concentrate on the operating speed of the
technology and leave the ergonomics to the UI people.
