OOo can open MS files but MSO can't open OOo files. So you need to "save
as" MS WORD .doc file or .rtf from the OOo save menu and send the file
in the .doc format that MSO can open. If they can be persuaded to
download and install OOo so much the better.
There's a Sun ODF Add-in for MS Office......
