On Fri, 16 Oct 2009 13:22:48 -0500 Came this utterance formulated by Robert Derman to my mailbox:
> I have a question, if someone is not subscribed to this list so that > they will not see replies to their email, then why is it that their > email is even visible to those reading this list? And furthermore, > what is the point? It just seems to me that if they are not > subscribed, then their email simply should not make it through to this > list in the first place. Am I just dumb that I don't get this? > Both this list and the user list have been intentionally made as easy to contact with questions as possible. This is to ease the way for newbies. Regular contributors on the list know to reply to both the list and the OP when a non-subscribed email hits the list (in my mail client i have filtered unsubscribed posts to a seperate sub-folder). In that way we become a help-desk without flooding the OPs email address with all the other emails unrelated to their question. It works, it just takes some getting your head around. -- Michael All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well - Julian of Norwich 1342 - 1416 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected]
