It crossed my mind a while back that some kind (& wealthy?) soul could
keep a perpetual advert on ebay, just saying OOo is free and where to
get it. Maybe the project itself could afford it! It would give a
sporting chance at least for anyone searching there to avoid paying.....
Since Sun, the primary supporter of OOo is being bought by Larry
Ellison's company, (from everything I have heard he has deep pockets and
a lack of love for M$) perhaps he could pay for such a thing. I hear
that the EU is holding up the sale, frankly I don't see where the EU
should have any right to any actual control over one American company
buying another. An opinion perhaps, but ho actual athority. But enough
digression. With a modest infusion of cash OOo could be better than M$
Office in almost every area. If it were and got the kind of attention
from the popular press that it deserves M$ would loose a great deal of
market share.
