You may notice, that people at The document foundation speak about an 
"An independent Foundation" ... not a foundation that is "free from 
Oracle". In fact I'd be happy to have Oracle with us, as independence
from single entities can only be reached, if multiple entities collaborate.

Each of those entities do have own goals (e.g. making business) - that's
natural. But the business goals of one entity must not control or heavily 
influence "the big picture". If the name of that entity is Oracle or 
Novell or whatever doesn't matter.
