No software in the world can do what I need it to do.

I'm a teacher and amateur musician and often I need to have a song
transposed to a different key e.g. from G-major to D-major. But I have to do
this manually: find every G-chord and change it to D. This can sometime be a
bit troublesome as I have to use color-coding. E.g. if I change all G-chords
in the text below (I'm Moving On - Rascal Flats) I get an intro like this D
C D - I can't tell if it's right or I still have to transpose the last
D-chord to an A...

Intro G C D

(Piano |: G -- G/f# - Em -- G/d -- C2 -- D7sus4 :|)

      G

I've dealt with my ghosts an' I've faced all my demons

C D

Fin'ly content with the past I regret

If I had a function in OO where I could choose the key of the song in e.g. a
dropdown menu and every chord is an object that can be locked to a specific
place in the lyrics. Then this object could be changed according to the
chosen key - or if I change the key (=transpose it).

Furthermore, if the chord-object is locked to a specific place I can change
font-style and -size etc. without changing their relative position - as have
happened in the example above.

If someone could programme this feature into OO, he or she would forever be
included in my evening prayers! ;-)

Some years ago I wrote a macro for Microsoft Word that made this conversion. It wasn't without bugs, but most of the time it worked OK. If it would be useful, I might be able to find it for you.
