out how to stop that.
Good idea.
Thanks for the heads up. It think those of us who use a mail reader that
is HTML aware, such as Thunderbird will not know that is a problem for
anyone else. I can be annoying enough just being myself. I don't need
annoy with HTML.
For the benefit of anyone using TB, here is what I did. Others ignore,
please.
By default TB sends all domains both HTML and Text.
HTML mail allows formatting that Text doesn't. I looked in TB's Options
> Format This provides Text or HTML and other options without
exception. To find a more fine grained solution, I looked in
Thunderbird's Tools > Options > Composition, clicked the Send Options. A
setting there determines whether HTMLis sent and domain exceptions are
provided for.
for completeness,
T > O > C > General | Send Options
I added openoffice.org as a text only domain.
**Please let me know if I was successful in sending TEXT only to this list.
You're fine now.
I must say I really dislike those depressingly frequent html emails with
HUGE font sizes and garish layouts. I wonder if the lists could usefully
suppress html content in some way.
