Hello Everyone

Thank you for all the suggestions.

Just a bit of me and my background.

I am first year PhD student in Nottingham University Computer Science Department. I
came to UK from green Bangladesh in 2001 to do a Masters.

My research
------------------

I am looking at how best to teach programming to undergraduates. Without reading
around the topic I am finding it difficult to focus any particular area of it.

At the moment I am reading around ( expert programming knowledge, novice programming
knowledge, human cognition in programming, current teaching methodology, current
technology in use for this, educational psychology, tasks/skills in programming).

One of the possibilities of my PhD result could be an AI model that would guide
lecturer to deliver teaching of programming.

I will be coming to the workshop in April and hopefully will get some inspiration for
my research.

With best wishes

Marjahan

Hi Marjahan,

Welcome aboard! Would you like to tell us a little bit more about yourself
and your research interests via the PPIG newsletter? We have a section
called 'spotlight on ppig-ers', where people can tell others what they are
working on and what they are doing.

The last closely related book that I know of is F. Dietienne's (I've spelt
her name wrong) that is called cognitive aspects of software design. Check
out about 3 newsletters ago for more info.

Good luck with whatever you are doing!

Best wishes,

Chris

is a good place to look for second hand books. Most of my
out of print PPIG related books were obtained via this source.

>Publisher : Academic Press 1991

They have one for sale but the seller will only ship within
the US. :-(
