There code is available at: http://meraki.net/linux
Before you go there and try to download it, understand that, I haven't look at the code for their latest hardware but if they are still using Click (routing platform, BSD/MIT License and partially GPL) and created their own element (the mesh routing algorithm implementation). What ever element they created/change, it fall under BSD and no longer GPL so they do not have to distribute their "algorithm implementation" which exist as an element in Click, which what they have been doing. So in short, you will not get their "mesh algorithm" is what it look to me. But anything else fall under GPL they have to make it available so in this case, OpenWRT, Click etc... -bn On 3/22/07, Michael Mee <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
All these and more will be answered tonight. But here is a quick stab:: eric martinez wrote: > 1. are meraki minis still free/ cheap to scfn members? > if so, how to get one or more? No. That deal came and went unfortunately. > 2. have they open sourced their code? No. And they seem to be back peddling a little on that as 'commercial realities' set in. They are still open sourcing everything they have to, but some new code seems to be closed. > 3. is a connection to their central server still required to make them work? No. AFAIK it never was. You can configure them individually and they'll work. They do try and call home though as that is their preferred way of central management, configuration and reporting. cheers, michael -- Michael Mee 858-531-0735 www.socalfreenet.org _______________________________________________ SoCalFreeNet.org General Discussion List To unsubscribe, please visit: http://socalfreenet.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss_socalfreenet.org
