I have read enough to know that those running it are the so called progressive
that decended from the communists that decended from the marxists. Funny how
when one name turns out to be unwanted they change their name hoping to keep us
from knowing who they are.
Only Communists, Unions(which are communist led), and the Peace and Freedom
groups (communists led also) are the only ones who use disruptive sit ins to
show their true fealings. They always seem to want everything without working
for it. If they can't control it they disrupt things until every one else gets
so fed up with things they accept it to get rid of the disruptions.
Just one obamanation after another till we end up with an obamanation in the
White House. They try to control speach by declaring that certain types of
speach is "Politicaly Incorrect" when all it doed is tell the truth. But all
this does is further their agenda by making it hard to say the truth without
"hurting" others (they mean themselves). And they use the politicaly incorrect
speach themselves anyway since they seem to think they are immune.
They hide their true agenda (to take over the world) by making us think they
are peace lovers and of cource "peace lovers" don't need guns (which are needed
to defend ourselves from those like them) so they back the anti gun lobby.
Once we cannot have guns then they (the UN) will just walk in and we won't be
able to stop them.

The banking system destroyed itself. Here might be some decent reading to help
you understand why #Occupy is happening.

or this:

But this is a tech maillist and not for politics, I suspect.
I came down from #OccupyLA where I and other volunteers set up WiFi for that
occupation and earlier this week I participated in #Occupy San Diego.
#Occupy L.A.'s deployment is the third of the Free Network Foundation's
FreedomTower ( photo: http://imgur.com/fna52 ). #Occupy Wall Street NYC and
#Occupy ATX (Austin) are the first two deployments. (L.A.'s is currently just
the access point + 4G, no mesh or connection to FreedomLink WAN yet).
>From a recent blog post:
The Free Network Foundation is an organization whose purpose is to steward the
creation of a censorship-proof, disruption-resistant, global peer-to-peer
network which is fully owned and operated by its participants. They managed to
get two prototype FreedomTowers up and running in time for Contact – one at
Occupy Austin, the other here at Occupy Wall Street in Liberty Square. The
towers are providing Internet access to the occupiers, and will be used to
establish an occupation-to-occupation Virtual Private Network. Next steps for
the FNF, according to its founder, Isaac Wilder, include continuing to build
out their burgeoning Wide Area Network, applying to the American Registry for
Internet Numbers for status as an Autonomous System, iterating and improving
the design of FreedomTowers, and working with the FreedomBox project to build
FreedomNode, a mesh-enabled FreedomBox capable of opportunistically engaging in
communications that are materially
peer-to-peer.

The FNF is co-founded by Charles Wyble, formerly of Los Angeles and currently
living in Austin. Charles had been active throughout the Southern California
tech scene until he moved earlier this year. I myself had many years ago been
on a rooftop deploying SCFN (Golden Hills area / Pink Palace or something to
that effect, IIRC).

I would encourage #OccupySD to consider asking that wifi deployment be
compatible the FNF's approach and hopefully #Occupy SD will be home for the
first FreedomTower deployed in the San Diego area. Having the ability to
easily get to where communications between occupations are encrypted on the WAN
will likely be important going forward. I suppose getting agreement on this
involves making a proposal during the General Assembly, perhaps even an
#OccupySD technology team formed for this?
I spoke with an #Occupy SD team member Eden who had a honda generator though it
was unknown if operating that onsite would be allowed. He suggested running it
in the back of a truck on the street and extending an extension cord for the
P.A. system.
Previously there had been a solar panel and battery powering the P.A. system
but that solar equipment hasn't been seen since the police action ten days ago.
I couldn't find anyone who knew if that solar equipment was among the items
confiscated, if it was a loaned item that was no longer available or why it was
no longer used.
In L.A., the solar power is provided by Power Of Green LLC which has staff
onsite in L.A., occupying. They also provide training classes to other
occupiers on how to build a portable solar panel/battery/inverter system.
Solar is one component of the organization's sustainable living offerings. The
#OccupyLA Media team also runs their own solar grid and uses generators as well
to power their production systems. These are occasionally tapped for the
FreedomTower there in L.A. as well.
The FreedomTower specs include a modified Ubiquiti firmware that includes OLSR
(for mesh).

If you already have a solution ready to deploy, then don't let anything I've
said slow you down in mobilizing. But please do take a look at the FNF's stuff:
