>There's no difference in member privileges
I'm not trying to say that all members are equal but some are more equal. I
was under the impression from previous conversations about membership
storage that the larger totes were used as incentive to get people to pay
the serious/uber/benefactor levels of membership. I realize some people are
able and want to contribute $200/month to help the idea of SynHak survive
but many people need something more.
At any rate if the larger totes are now open to whomever claims one first
it doesn't really change how I handle things on my end.

>Mostly the idea was to have some vinyl kiss-cut stickers....

That's not the idea I'm discussing at all.

>They wouldn't be DO NOT HACK stickers...

What I am discussing is exactly that. Some standardized way to label things
as DO NOT HACK. Something visible from 10ft back so people don't see a pile
of lumber, or electronics and think they're up for grabs. Blue painters or
masking tape doesn't always grab people's attention.

>As you can surmise, I am not a fan of spending org money on things that we
can do "in house".

I understand the sentiment, that's why I was asking for opinions about if
people would either independently fund it as a donation or thought it was
worth the communal money to spend. My critiques of doing things in-house
are these:
1) Big companies often times have access to better materials. Like
adhesives that don't leave residue, or eye catching pigments
2) Time spent making labels/ribbons/luggage tags to label projects is time
spent not working on the projects themselves. If someone wants to learn how
to make those items that's one thing. But for me if I can find a place that
will print them cheaply it's not worth my time.

I've found a place that does custom sticky-note pads at a price I'm willing
to pay so I'm going to submit a design later this week and get a small
batch printed. If people want to use them great, if not great. I'll put the
design on discuss@ and/or get it on the wiki so people can use it as they
see fit.

Andrew L
