If labeling something as "Do not Hack" is an advisory rather than statement (i.e. I label a minor tinker project as "Do not hack" and someone comes and makes an improvement towards/away from my goal, I'll be mildly annoyed but not upset/angry)
Then there should be a stronger sticker for the more serious of member projects such as what noisebridge has called a "NoDis" sticker.<https://noisebridge.net/wiki/No_Disassemble_Protocol> As mentioned before, there is no monitoring of stuff at Synhak. If you're going to leave your project/property unsecured in a public place, then you're going to have a bad time. If you don't have something to hack, then you're going to want to use things laying around at a hackerspace (under the guideline "be excellent" there are certain things that won't be hacked, for example: the only 3D printer available to us but people have already changed the OS on it's computer multiple times which is awesome. I'm going to do-acracy a multiboot for it which is excellent for everybody). That is what a hackerspace is. If you REALLY REALLY don't want something hacked, take it home as signs and postage sometimes tend to get ignored/unnoticed at some point. This past week we did land navigation training at Camp Ravenna, there are very large and noticeable sievert stakes and posts saying "DANGER, AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY, UNEXPLODED ORDNANCE" and a person still wandered into that area despite both a safety briefing and clearly marked off signage. The lesson is, do not assume a sign or a sticker will prevent someone from doing something you don't want them to do. Either lock it up, or take it home if it's that important to you. If its too complicated for multiple trips/lockage AND it really is that important, we should look into creating a similar "No Dissasemble" signage like what noisebridge has. Andrew L. does make a good point that we should have something like this, but members and guests should know that this is not 100% fool proof.
