It is not a measure of how good or bad Coldfusion is. But more a measure of

If my career were dictated by a popularity contest I would be
switching technologies every week... and I would wonder why I still
had to go to my homeroom class every morning....

Develop using Java, .Net, ColdFusion, PHP, RoR - I could care less.
There are job opportunities in all these areas, and will continue to
be for some time. Everyone is responsible for managing their own
career path and if they want to use another technology, more power to
them - they should.

I personally find it somewhat self-destructive to sit around worrying
about these things every time someone writes an article or spreads FUD
about whatever products I am currently using to do development.
