Also, to chime in a bit more on this, one of the problems I'm running into is keeping my MXML as free of ActionScript (!) as possible. One reason for this is MXML is descriptive enough of what's going to be considered self-documenting, whereas ActionScript (especially if your style is very OO as John points out) may need a javadoc-like approach even if it's just event handling logic.
I was happy to see ASDoc in the 2.1 update of Flex. If anyone knows of a way to document AS3 with svn, I'm all ears! That would be awesome.
