Curious, have you set a explicit height on the Menu? might force a scroll, never tried it before though. Aside from that, consider adding a 'more >' after say the 9th item where clicking on the more item adds another sub-menu of items iwth a more > link. I'd prolly go with what others have said though, use popupmanager and a custom component you can have fine grained control over.
