I agree with Des. We already have this place where everyone can come and talk. I don't see a need to create another place which adds a new barrier to entry. I don't do Facebook, or LinkedIn, or Skype, etc, etc. I don't want those organisations to own information about me and what I do and who I talk to. I do do email, via a server I control.
