I work with non-profits and twitter and facebook can be a powerful tools for such organizations. Setting up a facebook group or page for SME Server doesn't have to affect anyone on this list, except for the person who creates the page or group. These social networking sites are great for getting information out to those, who may not visit the forums or the sme server site often, but may still have on interest in announcements or events.
Anyone can set up a group. Only someone with the authority to set up a page for an organization or individual can do so. Some on this list may not use social networking sites, but I guarantee that there are people who use SME that do. I doubt that I am the only one. Also, Peter, this would not be promoting you or your work. It would be about promoting the OS and the Community.
