I was also a user from back in the Mitel days, although never a heavy user. I haven't used SME Server for some time now (not related to the product) and have probably only stayed on the lists for nostalgia and curiosity. As some others have said; if anyone doesn't like option 3 they need to come up with an alternative that can compete with it. In its absence option 3 is the only one that makes sense. Looking at the people behind option 3 (and the support it has) I wouldn't rate the chances of any alternative gaining traction anyway. So another +1 from the sidelines for option 3.
