Been playing with this: http://smartos.org/
I'm looking into switching my centos/xen hypervisor over to SmartOS. SmartOS, an offspring of Solaris, is a little out of my wheelhouse; so there's been a learning curve. However, the devs are very helpful and it's actually a fun technology to work with. I've been doing a bunch of testing with zfs raid levels, SSD cache, and kvm instances. I think I can install SME 9b2 with my eye closed now. :) Hope all is well.
