I don't "do" forums, far to slow an clunky to read messages in forums. B-) Most seem to need to transfer 100 k of eye candy for 2 k of actual, useful, message content. Having said that I appreciate that many only do forums... so even if it would be no benefit to me I can see value in having release notes in a (dedicated, read only?) forum/topic. > Maybe someone can also do an email to forum script - the formatting for > the forum is annoyingly different... Having read the rest of this thread how "annoyingly different" is the format? An email > forum posting script might be something I could look at. ie new emails arriving in [updatesannounce] get sent to a forum. Maybe via crafted URLs etc and wget? It's the latter bit I've not played with and could be a stumbling block. This would be automatic run daily under cron and written in perl. A private test forum/topic would be also very handy!. Ultimatey it's the sort of thing that ought to be completely automagic. Starting from when yum spots a new update being available or perhaps better part of a script that makes the update available. I see that there might be scripts about that already do some of these functions. -- Cheers Dave. _______________________________________________ Discussion about project organisation and overall direction To unsubscribe, e-mail [email protected] Searchable archive at http://lists.contribs.org/mailman/public/discussion/
