Hello David, You are right that this is not a correct solution. But it is probably not very usefull to run the gmenu2x in the correct way as it creates its own problems (Xiangfu Liu explained before some time why the current solution
was choosen). The "workdir=/root" parameter is clearly a workaround but it can be less confusing for users than pointing them to /bin. Also removal of "params=--login" from "/usr/share/gmenu2x/sections/terminal/bash" allows bash to read at least a ~/.bashrc file. It is not a ideal solution but it makes the NanoNote more user-friendly, I think.
