Please see this as an agile approach, independent Fellowship voting 0.1
beta. The Fellowship Council candidates are welcome to propose possible
rules for future elections as part of their platforms. There is no rule
against campaigning during the voting period. I'd encourage candidates
to make enhancements to their platform as replies to their own
nomination email, so it will be easier for voters to follow.
It roughly follows the pattern used when FSFE served as the
administrator for the Fellowship's elections. The same voting site is
used. The only difference is that it is now proportional
representation, as there are 3 seats to fill.
When FSFE first started running the election, they announced[1]
"We modelled our voting system on that used by Debian. It's a well
tested method and has proven to be resistant to voting anomalies."
It is normal for an election to have some cut-off date for freezing the
voters list. This was chosen arbitrarily.
Voting emails were sent yesterday. If anybody hasn't seen the email,
please check your spam folder.
Regards,
Daniel
