Personally, I have a problem with both commiting to three days of lost
productivity three months in advance AND to registering to a conference
that may equally well take a "programming and selling FOSS" (in which
case I'll gladly come) and "Writing efficient small perl", in which case
it is not my personal need.

This is not trying to say anything against the conference, just to point
out that there is a problem with registering so early.

I'll gladly hear more specifics about what direction the conference is
taking, so that I can see if I have anything to contribute.
