Sorry but we don't really know. We definitely stopped evaluating the DITA-OT a long time ago. Also please note that performance in terms of speed and memory usage is definitely not a design goal of ditac. > And do you have official test files for comparing the two? > (comprehensive use of DITA elements, etc.) May be the DITA 1.2 spec? See "Download the DITA 1.2 specification as converted by XMLmind DITA Converter 2.x" http://www.xmlmind.com/ditac/download_dita_spec.shtml See also "Appendix B. Sorry but we cannot prove that ditac is any better than DITA-OT. Moreover, we do not claim that ditac is any better than DITA-OT. The only document which could help you choosing between ditac and DITA-OT is this one: Why choose XMLmind DITA Converter rather than the DITA Open Toolkit? http://www.xmlmind.com/ditac/why_choose_ditac.html In a nutshell, if you are more or less satisfied with the DITA-OT, do not switch to ditac. On our side, the following statement explains why we have developed ditac: --- XMLmind DITA Converter (ditac for short) is a software component professionally developed, extensively tested, and documented in order to be embedded in all our commercial products. We have used the DITA-OT for a few years before developing ditac. We did that because we were dissatisfied with the quality of the PDF, RTF, HTML, JavaHelp, etc, files generated by DITA-OT. We also didn't like the architecture of DITA-OT, for example, its strong dependence on ant (despite the fact we develop our products in Java and as such, know and use ant). However we like DITA and want it to succeed. That's why we have decided to make ditac open source software. --- -- XMLmind DITA Converter Support List [email protected] http://www.xmlmind.com/mailman/listinfo/ditac-support
