You can get very customized output from DITA (or from any other XML base
format) but it almost always means doing some changes to stylesheets not
only by setting parameters but also by customizing XSLT code.
If you have someone with basic XSLT/XSL-FO knowledge in your team he/she
should be able to make such customization. DITAC XSLT code is quite easy
to understand and modify. If you don't have such person inhouse you can
hire consultant who will customize stylesheets to produce output in
desired graphic design.
