Thnaks for the info Mike I decided to get it fixed as i wanted to use the SB3 on display. I contacted Itron uk (01493 601144) and was quoted £45 plus vat, free delivery. took the plunge and ordered it. it took a few weeks as i didnt want to pay for faster shipment from Japan. I cut the pins off the old display, used new self adhesive pads between the VFD and pcb and resoldered the new one in. All works now :-)
