Hi all,

I'd just like to point out a counter-example to those arguing that the
core developers don't listen to criticism. There was a post recently
to django-users called "Why I'm giving up on Django" :

http://groups.google.com/group/django-users/browse_thread/thread/394701c83497e405/f85b5013b6a49d20?lnk=gst&q=why&rnum=1#f85b5013b6a49d20

Apart from a number of posters who provided direct
solutions/workarounds to some of the issues that the OP was having
problems with, most (if not all) of the core devs responded:

"Thanks for giving it a shot, thanks for the great feedback, and check
out Django again after a while." - AH

"Sorry to hear you're not completely satisfied, but thanks for taking
the time to write this regardless. It should be food for thought. " -
MT

"{issue} is something we are working on actively" - MT

"Valid point. " -MT

"So file a ticket; the login/logout URLs are a bit of a wart, and we
could certainly stand to improve that situation." - JB

I thought the replies to this were very reasonable and very helpful.
The issues the OP raised were discussed politely and listened to. I've
seen a number of open source lists/forums where direct criticism like
this would have been brutalised, and the fact that it didn't happen
here was nice.

I have to say that I think you're confusing arrogance with a desire to
do things *RIGHT*, and a lack of time on the part of the core devs.
