I have no experience with DB2, but I'm interested in a backend for
Django. Specifically, my interest stems from DB2's spatial database
offering ("Spatial Extender") that is free and feature complete (OGC
compliant).  Oracle and ArcSDE have high licensing fees, and MySQL's
spatial support is extremely limited (and will be so for the
foreseeable future) -- thus leaving DB2 as the next closest candidate
for spatial support.

I was, however, turned off by the state of pydb2 -- it looked like the
project hasn't been touched in years.  This is not a priority for
GeoDjango at the moment, but it would be cool to play around with a
spatial database other than PostGIS.
