I noticed that also, but I thought that perhaps it was a transcription error, since you said it works with sqlite3. The Oracle version should not make any difference for this query. More likely I just didn't hit the same query. What version of Django are you using? Also it might help if you posted your ModelAdmin, in case that's affecting the query.
