I don't dislike it particularly, just wanted to make sure we were fully investigating the alternatives. About what Django could gain from this project, I think GitHub should at least tweet that now developers who want to contribute to Django can login with their GitHub account, and promote the project. I'd prefer a blog post, but twitter is fine. It's a fair request given the non-negligible impact of asking every newcomer to sign up to their service.
