FreeBSD mail/sendmail port has no easy option for the -g flag.
If you want do that, appending a following line to site.config.m4
(which is located in ports/mail/sendmail/files/ for the FreeBSD port):
define(`confOPTIMIZE',`-g')
;; confBLDVARIANT does not seem to work in my env.
