Greetings. I apologize if you're not a member of M3AAWG, but I'm casting a wide net for an upcoming M3AAWG activity.
At the 29th M3AAWG meeting in Montreal, one of the open roundtable sessions spawned the idea of M3AAWG conducting an experiment to see if there's value in DMARC Aggregate reports. Specifically, if a brand owner receives DMARC aggregate reports about an IP engaged in fraudulent activity, might the brand owner be able to forward those reports to the entity responsible for the IP address (hosting provider, network owner, ISP, etc.) and will there be any action taken based on these reports? I have a PDF document to share that gives an deeper overview of the experiment, and there will be a BoF on Wednesday February 19th at the meeting in San Francisco, but I'm hoping to start gathering volunteers now prior to the meeting, so that we may have some momentum going in. The document is not necessarily a finished product, but it's more than a rough draft; that is to say, changes may occur between now and San Francisco, but they're not likely to be significant. If you're interested and can commit your organization to participating, please contact me off-list, either here or at my work address, [email protected]. Thank you for your time. -- Todd Herr Industry Advocate, Email Intelligence Group Return Path [email protected]
