There are some other options that are particularly interesting.  For
example, I'm told that Gmail will only show the display-name if the email
address in the From field is also in the user's address book and the
message authenticated.  Otherwise, it shows the email address.

Naturally, we can't rely on all MUAs doing that any time soon, and we don't
really have much ability to nudge them in that direction either.
