at first I thought it was the fact the EMI 2|6 had no WinXP specific drivers. Then I launched Reason and it worked pretty well. What happens is I open Cubase, go to audio setup and select the ASIO EMI 2|6. Then I go to the ASIO control panel and Cubase gives me a dialog box stating a problem loading the device. It gives 3 possible reasons. I'll try again after I go to lunch and give the exact information. XP then pops up a small box pointing to the taskbar stating the USB bandwidth problem. I haven't even plugged in my USB midi interface.
Is it possible that future XP drivers could reduce the bandwidth needed? Does anyone have Cubase on a laptop hooked to an EMI 2|6? --kev/entitee http://www.entitee.com/dnb > From: "ph." <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Organization: teion recordings > Reply-To: "Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Date: Tue, 18 Dec 2001 18:06:17 -0000 > To: "Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: [dnb-prod] Re: USB bandwidth - EMI 2|6 problems > > are you sure its strictly a bandwidth problem with usb itself. you cant > increase the usb bandwidth as a whole, but unless you connect more devices, > it should work as advertised. what exactly happens? what does cubase say? it > might be a latency issue, so you may need to increase your latency settings > in cubase. is the version of cubase you're using properly compatible with > XP - older versions may not have been so you might need to get the latest > version. > > sorry i cant be more specific, but i dont have a laptop or cubase. i just > dont think its a usb bandwidth issue as it sounds like it works normally. > > > ph. > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "kev/entitee" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: "Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Sent: Tuesday, December 18, 2001 6:02 PM > Subject: [dnb-prod] USB bandwidth - EMI 2|6 problems > > >> What is a solution for USB Bandwidth problems? >> I have a Toshiba Satellite S504 laptop with XP and >> a EMI 2|6 audio USB interface connected to it. >> The audio interface works until I attempt to use Cubase VST32 >> That is when I get bandwidth trouble. >> Will a powered hub fix this?
