my instinct, based on the fact it worked fine with reason, would be the asio
drivers, or possibly the asio drivers having trouble with the usb interface.
if reason is fine, that shows that your computer can communicate with it
over the usb bus. i suspect reason uses either wave or (more likely) direct
sound interface drivers, which could be working fine.

there are drivers on the emagic website for w2k but they dont list xp yet
(version 1.2). i would have thought drivers for win2k would work with xp as
well, but this isnt guaranteed. all i can suggest is contact emagic support
to see if there are any known issues with xp and asio.

alternatively it could be a problem with the vst side of the asio
connection. as for the bandwidth thing, that might just be windows reporting
an error from the usb port incorrectly.

sorry i cant be any more help, but i dont own any of these pieces of kit
(feel free to send them to me on loan to have a closer look ;)
