You'll probably find that when you apply compression to the clipping
bassline it no longer sounds as rough as it did because the clipping itself
adds edge to the overall sound....

Try using some distortion in combination with a compressor and maybe a tube
simulator...

Compression's one of those things that's best learned through practice ;)

Good luck!

Nick

I was afraid that would be the answer :)
Compression is one of those things I just don't seem to get the hang off, or
beter,
understand exactly what it does.
With most things you don't really have to understand, just twist some knobs
and you hear
what it does. Compression on the other hand isn't one of those effects.

I guess I'll finally have to divein some online tutorials and start
"practicing" on that
bassline to see if I can get it to still sound the same, but without the
clipping.

thanx for all the info guys,
and btw, Fruity does support plugins, so I'll be able to but the compressor
plugin on the
bass alone
