I use the Waldorf microQ for analog/FM style pads and basses, and I also have the Roland XP-30 which I like to use for those "normal" sounds like strings, flutes etc. The XP-30 comes with three expansion cards built-in, namely the Session, Orchestra and Techno cards, of which the best is the Orchestra card followed by the Session card with a lot of different sounds on it. The Techno card is a bit more strange, but it includes some fun elements as well. Also the XP-30 happens to be a great master keyboard, I'm loving it and for $850 (used) including a soft gig bag it feels like a very good deal.
Drums on a sampler of course - right now on my computer via my Echo Gina card, soon also on my EMU E64 (just a SCSI card and a few SCSI cables away from that one). - Janne [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.groundmotion.com/ http://hiddenlab.groundmotion.com/ (studio/gear information in here) .--------------------------------. | "Faber quisque fortunae suae." | '--------------------------------' Scott Bradley wrote: > For Pads the Waldorf XT is the beast, for strings look for a Roland in the > JV or the XV range.
