with the gear you have now you should be able to make just about anything in
the electronic dance music realm.
my only advice is to read some info on synthesis

Subject: [dnb-prod] Struggling.....can anyone help?...please?

Our current set up: P3 700mhz, Emu 6400 ultra sampler,
couple of software synths (eg virus)....we can't seem
to get the right kind of 'rolling' bass sound? do we
need to invest in a proper hardware synth? or are we
not maximising the sampler?
any suggestions much appreciated.
