cool part is you don't have to reformat, hold down control and you'll get
the startup menu, choose safe mode command prompt, rename the windows
folder to oldwin ("ren windows oldwin") and then just install. It might
find the old installation, if it does, it gives an option to ignore it. No
reason to lose your valuable data.
