Hi,

Excellent - at least i now know that you can record into a wave editor
whilst the sequencer is playing the hardware,
That takes out some of cr*p thats added to my recordings through the 4miles
of cable and amp wiring it goes thru before getting into my MD recorder

I've got a Guillemot ISIS card with a 4outs/8ins breakout box so should be
no probs to stick a stereo mixer output into the card to record the mix. Its
got optical in/out too, so this should be cool after tweaking the wav. in
software....

Thanks

Dan

Hummm... Isn't it so that a full-duplex soundcard can playback/record at the
same time ???? I've got an ancient (well, allmost) gadgetlabs wav/4
soundcard, and although the latency sucks big time I can record audio while
I'm playing it back.

I use cubase (but should be the same with logic, cakewalk etc) and can use
for example a vsti for drums, have a soundcard output come into a stereo in
on my (hardware) mixer, mix it all together with external synths and fx, and
send a stereo out back to the soundcard inputs to record the full mix on a
stereo track in cubase. In the past I've also used soundforge to record
while cubase is playing.

If you're 100% software though then I guess you could use 'virtual audio
cable'...

Piet.
