Win XP is certainly _more_ stable than either 95, 98 or ME - about as stable as 2000 in fact.
However, stability isn't everything, and you'll find that a lot of hardware that musicians use isn't supported in XP, whilst it is in 2000 etc. Couple that with XP's horrible, cuddly, dumbed-down GUI and at the moment it's a complete no no. I'm sure in the future it will be the OS of choice (if you can get used to the front end, which is a matter of personal taste), but right now you should be sticking with 2000. I reckon. And everyone knows you never install a first release of _any_ Microsoft OS, right ? //WK >From: Vince <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Reply-To: "Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List" ><[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: "Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: [dnb-prod] Soundcard Choice, WinXP? , midi controller? >Date: Fri, 12 Apr 2002 00:37:34 -0700 > >I've just started getting into producing, and I quickly realized my meazly >computer won't handle it.
