i don't use reason, so i wish i could give you a definite answer, but the theory behind it is if you're either "converting" to 44.1kHz or just "readjusting" to 44.1. the first would mean that everything will sound as it did in 96, but at a lower sampling rate, and the second is that you're playing the 96kHz-sampled audio at 44.1... half its speed. so i guess that's your answer, see if you can "convert" rather than just "replay at 44.1".

I'm trying to figure out how sample rates and such work. To make things easiest, I'm working in Reason. When I change my sample rate in the audio preferences to 96k, the metronome goes at less than 1/2 the speed it should, and is pitched down. Both by the ratio of 44.1khz to 96khz. I don't understand this. Is there no way to make it work? I've experienced similar problems in cubase, nuendo, logic, etc. I don't get this whole sample rate thing. b ===== Brian J.
