Behringer makes good stuff but their product design is geared ultimatly for cost effectiveness (affordable price is their top priority and I am amazed at the low cost of some of their gear which performs very well and near or equeal to the competition). Unfortunatly, durability is not one of their strongpoints in my opinion(I wouldn't take my Behringer deck out of the studio or want to rely on it exclusivly at a show). That doesn't mean that they make shitty stuff, just that it is not as durable as similiar modules which cost more. I used to work for zzounds.com (online gear store)and we sold a lot of Behringers and also had to take back a lot as well, more than other brands. It seemed to me that some units were rock solid, whereas others were total shit (quality control?). I would recommend the Mackie 1604 VLZ, I've had mine for years and while no module will last forever without some type of failure, it seems to be a really tough S.O.B. considering all of the trauma its seen. I think its worth the money for the features it has.
-B4P (I remember people who bought Access Virus modules were on waiting lists for like a year or more at times through zzounds, the most sought after gear I ever saw. Unfortunately zzounds does not ship over seas, never made any sense to me and probably why they almost went under a while ago) >From: "Scott Bradley" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Reply-To: "Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List" ><[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: "Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: [dnb-prod] Re: mixing boards >Date: Tue, 16 Apr 2002 10:17:09 +0100 > >You are buying Mackie monitors and are considering getting a Behringer ? > >Behringers are cheaper for a reason, they use low grade components. >I've heard they are more prone to blowing up. > >Do yourself a favour, get a Mackie.
