I found Reason to be annoying for the same reason (euh... :)). I do practicaly everything in Fruity Loops because I like the fact that if I want to alter something in my track I don't have to use 2 different programs to do it. Sometimes I do render loops from Fruity to a single wav (ussually drums) to make the track-view less complex when you're using 20 chopped up samples from a break, but that's about it.
I have a habbit off fiddling a lot with the individual samples, so if I'd save em all as loops, I'd have to be remaking those all the time.
