No, I'd say there is a lot of diversity in the UK but you have to look hard for it. It differs a lot from area to area. An unfortunate thing that seems to have happened recently is that as UK Garage has slowly started to die, a lot of the "undesirables" have turned their attention back to d&b. Hence the sudden MC thing and we've got a situation now where MCs headline events and not the DJs. Which IMHO, is fucked up. Every little tracksuit bottom/burberry cap/hooded top wearing chimp round my area thinks they're an MC now. And they're shit. Last Saturday, I played alongside Goldie and within seconds of certain tunes coming on, I was surrounded....gimme the mic, gimme the mic....fucking wack.

So I played some liquid funk and they all pissed off to the garage room, next door ;)

Also, I've noticed that on this list and on production forums theres a heavy bias towards techy, heavy tunes...check out dogsonacid for instance.

OK so i never really peep mixes or anything online as I only have net access
at work and none whatsoever at home. Does UK talent tend to stick to one
style? I know Fab & groove mix it up with different styles and whatnot but I
guess I don't know if that's all that common.

Here in LA a lot of the "2nd gen" DJs have been throwing down diverse sets
for a long time now. I can appreciate that. A straight hour of the same
style bugs me more often than not.
