Thanks Florian, that worked with devuan_jessie_1.0.0_i386_NETINST.iso Most interesting is that it also went through the "Mounting CD-ROM" stage, but on this distro _it_worked_, unlike the other devuan (and one debian) versions, which all failed to boot from USB flash. I first tried devuan_ascii_2.0.0-beta_i386_NETINST.iso, but on the Jetway host it reports: "isolinux.bin missing or corrupt. DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER" When used to boot the Udoo X86 host, it is silently ignored, with booting from HDD. (Yes, I did pounce on Escape, and select Boot from USB in the BIOS menu, so the USB boot failed silently on that host.) The netinst is still fetching stuff, but (fingers crossed) Jessie is the goods! (Has to be as Ascii won't install on anything I have here ... unless those old laptops succumb to persuasion. Must find time to try that.)
