Nothing would break with the removal of reverse DNS, as no one is relying on it for anything. (Anyone who is relying on it, shouldn't be.)
Then feel free to de-activate all programs and systems you have that might potentially make any possible use of reverse DNS. But just because you want to shoot off your foot with a twelve-gauge shotgun using magnum 00-buckshot, please don't ask anyone else to join you.
