Yes, I understood. >> I also like the simple menu boxes like on http://sdphp.net/ (which are very >> common -- simple menu items with a heading. I just happened to be on that page, and the example was that the boxes have a header. I've liked the mod_perl menu design with just the text in the box, but then the box is very plain looking. So I was suggesting a headers. Maybe just a small stripe of color on the top of the menu box, I don't know. >> http://domm.zsi.at/modperl-site-domm/products/products.html >> >> is fine, too. > > >I don't know. One though is that we are used to seeing sites with a full width banner across the top of the page. Maybe those banners hold the site together, otherwise it's just a collection of boxes on the screen. >> If you want my opinion (which you have probably had enough of by now), >> generate the site with as few lines and graphics as possible, and then find >> a graphic designer to add a little flair to the site -- nice colors to tie >> it all together with a new logo, and a small top banner to link all the >> pages together as a single site. > > >That's exactly what we do. In other words, I am not the one to ask about design ideas. I'll withhold my opinions about design vs. browsers, at this time. ;) >I don't hate IE, since I don't use win32 :) New machine arrives next week. Then I can answer that way, too.
