I'm working on some code changes that should be reflected in the
Developers Reference. I thought I would try downloading the DevRef
source so that I could submit an XML patch, but after poking around the
docs community pages, I'm feeling puzzled and confused.

1. I've downloaded devref-xml.20070412.tar.gz. Do I use the DTD in
devref-xml.20070412, or do I use the DTD in the template_file.tar
   file that
   http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/documentation/doc_collab/templates/
   links to?

2. The comments in devref-xml.20070412/Makefile point me at
   http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=21935#files,
but they don't tell me what I should download. I had assumed it was
the docbook5-xsl package, but when I unpack it, I don't see the XSL
subdirectory that the Makefile comments refer to. The templates page
   (http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/documentation/doc_collab/templates/)
links to the docbook-xsl package (rather than docbook5-xsl), but that
package doesn't have an XSL directory, either. (This could explain
why Rainer was having problems building the DevRef...)

I'm thinking that the DevRef makefile needs to be updated to track
the current structure of the docbook package(s). But I'd like some
confirmation that I'm on the right track before I spend more time on
this. And which package should it be: docbook5-xsl or docbook-xsl?

thanks,
mike
